Georgetown Public LibraryWashington, DC$950,000 Fire Restoration – Government Funded

Coincidentally, this massive fire at the Georgetown Public Library occurred just 12 hours after the blaze at Eastern Market, just seven miles away.

This building, a 1935 Georgian revival mansion, was known for its collections of local history, including maps and paintings of the neighborhood, as well as individual files on each home in Georgetown that have been donated over the decades.

Minkoff Company was immediately brought in to stabilize the structure. Tasks included the removal of damaged structural steel and other hazardous building elements, as well as ensuring that all electrical and mechanical systems were isolated and safe.
