$575,000 Fire Restoration
W.R. Berkley Insurance Company
A Sunday afternoon fire in Germantown went undetected until fire alarms alerted residents to the burning flames that had climbed three stories behind their condominium’s walls.
After 75 firefighters extinguished the blaze, six families were left homeless and another six were temporarily displaced.
The fire started in a utility closet on the balcony of a first-floor unit and was ruled accidental.
Minkoff Company was immediately hired to perform emergency building stabilization and prevent further damage. Ultimately, Minkoff settled the loss with the condominium’s insurance company and performed the restoration of the three-story, garden-style building that housed the six destroyed condominium units.
